Departments and designations
Create the departments and job titles employees are placed in, limit them to branches, and activate, deactivate or delete them safely.

Add a department

- Add Department
Enter the Department Name, for example “Engineering”.
Optionally choose one or more Branch values. Leave it empty to apply the department to all branches.
Optionally choose a Department Head.
Pick a branch first — the list shows active employees of the first branch you selected.
Click Create Department.
The department list shows each department’s branches, head and number of employees. Search by department or head name.
Add a designation

Enter the Designation Name, for example “Senior Software Engineer”.
Optionally choose the branches and the Department it belongs to.
Click More options to add a Designation Code, Notice Period (days) and Probation Period (days) for reference.
Click Create Designation.
When adding an employee, the designation list shows only designations for the employee’s branch (plus all-branch designations).
Activate or deactivate
Use the Status switch on a department or designation to deactivate it. Deactivate records you no longer use rather than deleting them.
Delete a department
Click the bin icon on a department and confirm. You need delete permission.
Designations can’t be deleted — deactivate them instead.
Frequently asked questions
No. Leave and mileage approvals go to each employee’s reporting manager, set on the employee record. Department Head is for reference.
The list is filtered to the employee’s branch. Check the designation applies to that branch (or to all branches) and is active.
