Understanding the IRS Mileage Deduction

The IRS allows you to deduct a fixed amount per business mile driven instead of tracking actual vehicle costs. For 2026 the standard rate is $0.725 per mile.

Tip: Example: You drive 40 business miles in a month. 40 miles × $0.725 = $29.00 deduction. The dashboard calculates this automatically — you just enter the distance.
