Welcome to Mileage Tracker
The Mileage Tracker helps you log every business trip you drive, automatically calculate your IRS mileage deduction, and keep a clean record you can export at tax time — without any spreadsheets or manual math.
This guide walks you through every feature on Mocha's Mileage Tracker so you can get the most out of it.
What You Can Do
| Feature | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Log Trips | Record any trip you drive — date, distance, start and end address, and business purpose. |
| Auto-Classify | Set up rules so trips between the same locations are automatically marked as Business or Personal. |
| Calculate Deductions | The IRS standard mileage rate is applied automatically to every Business trip. |
| Manage Vehicles | Add multiple vehicles. Set a primary vehicle that pre-fills on every new trip. |
| Export Records | Download a CSV or IRS-style PDF mileage log for your accountant or tax filing. |
| Review Unclassified | New trips land in Unreviewed until you confirm the type — so nothing slips through. |
Understanding the IRS Mileage Deduction
The IRS allows you to deduct a fixed amount per business mile driven instead of tracking actual vehicle costs. For 2026 the standard rate is $0.725 per mile.
Tip: Example: You drive 40 business miles in a month. 40 miles × $0.725 = $29.00 deduction. The dashboard calculates this automatically — you just enter the distance.
